Frequently Asked Questions

(plus a few we've made up 'cos we thought you ought to ask them!)

k_bullet.gif (1060 bytes) What do we do at the Kepplewray Centre?

We provide superb accommodation, food and activity instruction for people of all backgrounds and ages including those with disabilities.  Most of our guests are schools on 'residentials' (field courses to the rest of us), groups (e.g. Scouts, Church groups, PHAB), and families and individuals.  We can also accommodate training courses, small business conferences and one-day meetings.

k_bullet.gif (1060 bytes) Who owns Kepplewray?

Kepplewray is owned by the Kepplewray Trust, a registered UK charity.  It is non-profit making.

k_bullet.gif (1060 bytes) How long have we been around?

The Charitable Trust that bought the disused Kepplewray mansion and brought it back to life, was formed in the early nineties.  The Kepplewray Centre was formally opened on 1st May 1998.

The building had been empty for 10 years and required considerable restoration and fire safety improvements Accomodation is now to a very high standard

k_bullet.gif (1060 bytes) How big are we?

We can take up to about 50 guests at a time all year-round.  We have between 15 and 20 staff (some part-time), depending on the season, and a number of volunteer helpers.  Our annual turnover is approaching £500,000.  We have big hearts!

k_bullet.gif (1060 bytes) Why do we do this?

We believe that God sees everyone as special.  As Christians we have a duty to be at the forefront of social change as well as giving everyone the opportunity to understand how their creator wants a personal relationship with them.  The staff at Kepplewray are motivated by their Christian faith and concern for individuals, but they in no way seek to impose their faith on others.   They believe that by their lives, attitudes and willingness to listen and answer questions, their faith will be exposed.
