Ethos
Our ethos of inclusion is shown through our challenging activities for disabled and non-disabled people, which break down prejudice and misunderstanding. We enable all to use their own strengths and abilities to overcome physical and mental barriers. We offer activities and training to schools, youth groups, special needs groups, churches, families and businesses.
We are affiliated with Christian Camping International, Cumbria Association of Councils for Voluntary Services and Cumbria Youth Alliance.
History
Our vision arose from a group of people running Christian summer camps for young people, concerned to develop activities that would not exclude anyone. This group drafted the original aims and the company, Kepplewray Ltd, was incorporated in January 1992, the charity, The Kepplewray Trust, was registered in December 1992. The house, situated in the Lake District National Park was purchased in 1993. We opened to guests in May 1998.
