Outdoor (and indoor) skills development . . . .

Kepplewray is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA).  We can offer the following licensed activities:

The abseil tree in the Kepplewray grounds is a very popular challenge. It has been conquered by many with various disabilities yet nobody finds it easy!

Kepplewray staff can also run a large range of activities which do not come under the scope of the AALA as well as organising links to other providers for activities such as pony trekking.

Kepplewray provides an opportunity for everyone to learn and improve skills in a wide range of activities.   The mountains, lakes and rivers of the Lake District offer wonderful venues for almost every activity.  Top level instructors are available to help you whether you are a novice or an aspiring instructor.  Courses can also be arranged for group leaders in outdoor activities and subjects such as first aid, canoe safety and disability awareness.

Kepplewray aims to ensure that each activity is open and accessible to all - including those who are disabled.

We are providing an increasing number of specialist activities within the grounds of Kepplewray which reduces the need to travel and ensures good disabled access.  See our abseil tree.

Kepplewray has arranged its own private access to Coniston Water - one of the world's most beautiful lakes.  Accessible toilets and changing facilities are located nearby.

Kepplewray also provides many  indoor activities ranging from candle making to kite making.

Our staff are qualified and experienced in organising and leading integrated, mixed ability expeditions in the UK and abroad - anything from a one-night bivouac to canoeing in Scandinavia or mountaineering in Morocco

The happy photo before the long walk!  The intrepid rafters just before the dog decides to dry itself!

Kepplewray promotes personal and social development throughout its Outdoor Education programme.  Outdoor activities are set, where possible, within the framework of journeys with an emphasis on teamwork, problem solving and self-reliance.

When you get back from your day of activity we have some of the best showers in the country and an endless supply of hot drinks.

Hot water and plenty of it!
