The directions below are for cars. For coaches and lorries see separate directions.
If you have SatNav our postcode is LA20 6HE and we are on Kepplewray Hill, Broughton-in-Furness.
It is approx 30 miles from the M6 to Kepplewray and normally takes 35-45 minutes
Whether travelling from the north or the south:
Leave the M6 at junction 36 onto the A590, signposted Kendal and Barrow.
After 3 miles turn off towards Barrow (still the A590). Do not go straight on towards Kendal and Windermere (A591).
Follow the A590 for 17 miles (through Newby Bridge). Take the right hand turning onto the A5092 at Greenodd signposted Broughton, Workington and Coniston.
Continue on this road for 8 miles, it becomes the A595 at Grizebeck.
After Grizebeck for about 4 miles, the road takes a number of sharp bends followed by a straight section which leads to a sharp left bend with a large lay-by on the right hand side (old quarry).
Follow the road round this bend, then signal right to take the road signed 'Local Traffic'. BE VERY CAREFUL at this junction, as there is a hidden dip ahead of you just before you make the turn.
Follow the winding road for a mile until you see the school signs. Signal right when you come to these signs as you will be making a turn just over the brow of the hill.
Turn right into the main drive for Broughton CE School. Proceed very slowly along the drive past the school watching out for possible children at play and park in front of the Kepplewray Centre.
If you miss the turn into Kepplewray you will end up in Broughton town square. Go round the square, come back up the hill and take a left into the drive beside the Kepplewray and Broughton CE School sign.
