k_bullet Smartening up
Every winter, during periods when there are no guests staying, we use the opportunity to redecorate and enhance Kepplewray. This winter has seen us fully redecorating most of the bedrooms and laying new carpet in the bedroom corridors. We look forward to welcoming you to see them soon.

k_bullet Discovery Time
Discovery Time is a new opportunity for Kepplewray's mid-week primary school group visitors to hear and learn about the Christian gospel message in a relaxed, fun and open way in order to give them the means to discover what they think about it.
Discovery Time is 10-15 minutes of fun & practical discovering for the group taking place after breakfast on each of the mornings the group is staying.
(The 4 day programme can be altered for those groups staying for just 3, 2 or even 1 morning.)
Themes addressed: * God loves his creation * Why did Jesus die? * You are special * Everybody matters to God

Kepplewray appreciates this might not be appropriate for everyone, but hopes that many groups will be able to participate in and benefit from it.
This new venture is being trialled through the summer and the early part of the autumn term 2011.
It is led by some of the Kepplewray activity staff and the current parish Youth & Children's Worker, Hannah Bimson (see photo)

k_bullet Visit to Bethesda Project in Burundi
Peter Sanders, Project Director, visited our linked project in Burundi earlier this year. Here is his report:

Little did I think that the visit to Kepplewray from an African Bishop, Eraste Birgimana, one damp February morning would result in me paddling a canoe over 4,000 miles away, on a lake in Burundi, with “a group of disabled and non-disabled young people, a load of ‘old bishops’ and a host of government officials” on a very hot sunny February morning exactly four years later! But it did!

How? Well it’s a long story of emails, phone calls, visits, discussions & meetings (lots of them!) and the decision to establish a link and form a partnership with the Anglican Diocese of Muyinga in Burundi. We sent Steve & Lucy McIlhenny out there for two years in January 2010, then Hannah Bimson and Greg Wallace for two months over Christmas and finally me for the official launch (literally! – see the photos!) of our partnership, The Bethesda Project, on 9 February 2011.
