How to drive to Kepplewray from the M6

If you have SatNav just put in OSGB: SD, 21449,87403 or our postcode which is LA20 6HE

Otherwise . . . .

Whether coming from the North or South, leave the M6 at junction 36 onto the A590, signposted to Kendal and Barrow. It is exactly 30 miles from the M6 to Kepplewray, and normally takes 40-45 minutes.

After 3 miles turn off towards Barrow (still the A590) (i.e. do not go straight on to Kendal).

You should follow the A590 for a further 17 miles at which point the road widens (estuary on left) and you take the right hand turning onto the A5092 signposted to Workington.

Continue on this road for 8 miles (it becomes the A595) before turning right after the sharp left-handed bend (lay-by on right) up the hill signposted "Local Traffic". NB. Do not take the turning before the lay-by (signpost is a bit ambiguous!).

Drive with care along a narrow and winding road until, in just under a mile, you reach a hill and see some school signs. At the top of the hill you will see the Kepplewray sign and the school entrance on the right.  Turn in and drive slowly up the drive - there may be children about.

If you arrive in the square in Broughton-in-Furness, you have missed our drive and gone 400 metres too far!
