On Land in the Lake District

Our water sports activities are based on Coniston Water, which, at 5 miles (8km) long and 184ft (56m) deep, is the Lake District's third largest lake. The children's author Arthur Ransome, in his novel 'Swallow and Amazons' drew much of his inspiration from Coniston Water, and the book's Wild Cat Island, is easily identifiable as the lake's Peel Island, which really does have a secret harbour.

There is plenty to explore once you find yourself on the water.
