Families come to Kepplewray for many different reasons:

• as a single family – or several close families combined – to be able to undertake some outdoor activities together
• a gathering of the wider family group – some or all of whom could also do activities
• for a celebration with family and friends of an important milestone or achievement

Whatever the reason, Kepplewray is a fantastic homely venue and is a very family orientated building offering a "home cooked" food - which can be tailored to your specific requirements.

The key is that, whatever the reason for the get together, you all have fun – and we will play our part in trying to ensure that.

A short break can leave parents feeling relaxed, as the activity instructors lead the family through a range of exhilarating outdoor activities which can be tailored for your family such that they are suitable for as many generations that wish to take part. We can cater for all, from the timid to the most adventurous, and can guide you on land, water or a rock face.

At the other end of the spectrum, you may just want to spend time sitting in one of our comfortable lounges – perhaps having lit the open fire – catching up, chatting with each other over a cup of tea – or maybe reminiscing about times gone by.

If it is a celebratory meal and/or an evening party with some music for you all to enjoy that is required – you can achieve any of this at Kepplewray.

All activities are delivered with people and their varying level of ability in mind. We focus on what the individual can do and try to enable them to push that bit further by working with them and our adaptive equipment.

We are all individuals and it is very rare when one solution fits all – so the individual is important.

We have certain equipment which can help with some of the activities we offer varying from mobile hoists (that can be used down by the lake or up in the hills) and sliding boards/sheets to specialist harnesses and wheelchairs (used for climbing and abseiling).

Our expert instructors have a real "can do" attitude and approach with the sensitivity to listen and help enable all to achieve.

"The activities were more advanced than anything we'd ever done as a group before, but they were really tailored to our needs, and Chris our activities person was excellent."

"Simply amazing. Everyone was excellent with our group and made us feel welcome whilst tailoring everything to our needs."

Every company relies on its employees to be innovative and motivated in order to achieve their goals. With good leadership and communication skills, the delivery of these goals becomes less time consuming and more effective. The Kepplewray centre can create bespoke team building programmes, which promote leadership, communication and innovation. Our ethos is "Realising Everyone's Potential", and our aim is to bring out the best in each individual, even in challenging and unfamiliar circumstances. The workshops can be delivered at your place of work, or here at the Kepplewray Centre using the phenomenal natural environment of the Lake District.

These programmes, and the unique environment, enhance the development of leadership skills and help colleagues understand their own strengths and the strengths of the people they work with on a regular basis.

Kepplewray takes employees out of their normal working environment and places them in situations that require them to work together if they are to succeed. The impact of these newly formed teams continues long after their visit to Kepplewray by empowering them to work more effectively together in the workplace.

"As always the venue and the staff were brilliant - will continue to recommend it to other organisations - everyone should come here at least once"
