The Area...

There are other local attractions just beyond the house and grounds, including:

  • the historic town of Broughton-in-Furness at the bottom of the short hill

  • the wider area of the Duddon valley, described as a jewel in the crown of Cumbria.  This is situated between Coniston and Eskdale, and is largely remote, unspoilt and perhaps the most idyllic valley of the Lake District.  The Duddon valley will delight walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. If you are planning to stay and self-cater in the area, and to travel to the Kepplewray Centre for pre-arranged activities, then we recommend you visit Lakes Cottage Holidays.  With over 25 years' experience holiday letting in the area and extensive local knowledge, Lakes Cottage Holidays will find a great holiday cottage in the Lake District for you.
